Operation Shine Luncheon and Meet N' Greet, Hosted by Sasha Bruce Youthwork

Raising awareness of the LGBTQ homeless youth epidemic in Washington D.C.
Operation Shine Washington DC, hosted by Sasha Bruce Youthwork, and in part by the Wanda Alston House and SMYAL, is a community event created to raise awareness of the LGBTQ homeless youth epidemic in Washington D.C. and celebrates the organizations in D.C. that are empowering homeless and marginally housed youth. Operation Shine is a part of PrideWalk2009; where Jill Hardman and Chloe Noble are walking across the United States to raise awareness of the LGBTQ homeless youth epidemic in America. 
DEFINE A SHINE: A "Shine" is a community event created to raise awareness about a community issue and to celebrate the community itself. It is more than a rally, because it often includes food, entertainment, activities, and fun. It is more like a small festival that promotes community action, awareness, and inclusive celebration. Operation Shine America is now officially an event that will happen annually nationwide.

Meet and Greet Luncheon:  1 pm - 2 pm
History of Sasha Bruce Youthwork: 2 pm - 2:45 pm
History of The Wanda Alston House: 3 pm - 3:45 pm
March for the LGBTQ and Allied homeless youth:  4:15 pm - 4:45 pm
